This course is an introduction to the art of dance through historical and social/cultural perspectives. Students will learn about the development of dance forms such as ballet, modern, tap and jazz, social and multicultural dance and related areas of production, dance in education and careers in dance. Class activities are designed to stimulate the perception and enjoyment of dance on visual, intellectual and kinesthetic levels.
