Introduces the student to the fundamental molecular knowledge and basic laboratory skills needed to work with proteins proficiently. Includes lab safety, scientific measurements, notebook keeping, proper laboratory techniques, and date analysis. Covers specialized techniques to utilize equipment applicable to protein research. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week. Basic Arithmetic, Algebra I, Developmental Chemistry, Foundations of Biology and college reading and writing competence is required.
