Meets MnTC goal area(s):3 This course is an introduction to fundamental theories, principles and methods of microbiology. Structure, function, effects of physical factors, and inhibition and killing of microorganisms will be studied. Microbial interactions with humans and their immune system are introduced. Students are familiarized with the concepts of medical and environmental microbiology and microbial diversity, as well as the necessary laboratory techniques needed to study those organisms. This course includes a laboratory component. Prerequisite: None
