4(3-3) F, S An introduction to the unifying principles of biology and the processes of scientific investigation using an inquiry approach. Laboratory experiences model inquiry teaching methods appropriate for use in early childhood, elementary, and middle shcool science lessons. This course is open only to early childhood, elementary, middle school, and special education majors. Will fulfill a natural science component of the general education requirement for the Associate of Arts degree. Does not count for credit towards a major or minor in biology. Students not meeting prerequisite must have permission by department to enroll. Students receive credit toward graduation for only one of BIO 100, BIO 101, or BIO 102.
