Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or above insequential PN Program curriculum courses, inclusive of 5 cr. hr. Anatomy. This course was designed to provide the student with fundamental knowledge of the functions of the major body systems. The course relates how organized anatomical structures of a particular size, shape, form, or placement are intended to serve unique or specialized functions. With repeated emphasis of this principle, students are encouraged to integrate otherwise isolated factual information into a cohesive and understandable whole. This course covers the essentials, places emphasis on concepts, and correlates body structure (anatomy) with function (physiology). Homeostasis is integrated by demonstrating how "normal" interactions of structures andtheir functions are achieved and maintained by dynamic counterbalancing forces.
