Prerequisites: A grade of "C" or betterin HMS100 and HMS101, and permission of practicum coordinator are required. A practicum liability insurance fee is also required for enrollment in this course. Offers an opportunity for students to gain field experiences appropriate to their career goals in selected settings. These settings may include social, educational, public and private health agencies, or other community organization. It is supervised jointly by a member of the college faculty and a member of the agency staff. This course requires students to spend 192 contact hours per semester (12 per week) for practicum work experience. Includes one hour-long seminar group each week to discuss and process the practicum experience.
