5(2-6) D Planning and implementing curriculum to meet the cognitive, emotional, physical, creative and social developmental needs of the young child. Using literacy techniques learned and practiced in class and at the child development laboratory, the students will also share information within the community at libraries and in low-income child care facilities. Supporting young children, their families and teachers/caregivers in their environment is the focus of this course. This enhances our mission to encourage literacy in all parts of children's lives. Six hours of laboratory experience weekly in child development laboratory required.
