Prerequisite: Must hold current EMT license, be accepted in the Paramedic Program, and successfully complete all second semester paramedic courses. This course integrates the theory behind the use of advanced diagnostic treatment, assessment based management, counseling, rescue, and communication procedures into the practice of the paramedic. Pediatrics, management of the chronically ill, extrication, rescue, and communication techniques will be emphasized in this course.
