3 credits. 3 hours. (Lecture 3 hours.) The study of the history of theatre from ancient Greece to the present. The course will explore the evolution of the many types of theatre activities. This course will include the reading and discussion of plays using the elements of theatre based on Aristotle's "Poetics." Exploration of the creation of theatre as a profession. The connection of modern issues with the themes of play read. Different cultures will be explored through the study of theatre of arts.
