3 credits. 4 hours. (Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours.) Prerequisite: ENGL 101, SPDR 100 or SPDR 102, and SIGN 102 with a minimum grade of B. A course designed to provide students with a study of sign-to-voice interpreting. The course of study includes short-term memory exercises, language analysis, sequencing, shadowing, paraphrasing, vocal inflection, diction, breathing, and pronunciation. Extensive use of videotapes provide students in-class practice.
