1.5 credits. 1.5 hours. (Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 0.5 hour.) Prerequisite: Entry to the practical nursing program. This fundamental course introduces the student to the role of the practical nurse in meeting basic needs common to all clients. This course introduces the student to the basic skills related to nursing care. Basic nursing skills and safety aspects will be presented. The student will practice these basic skills in the laboratory setting.
