3 credits. 3 hours. (Lecture 3 hours.) Prerequisites: CDCG 149 or concurrent enrollment. This course provides an in-depth study of physical, social-emotional, language, and cognitive development of children, including those with different types of special needs and those who represent different cultures. The importance of the roles of the caregiver, the environment and the family will also be explored as it relates to the development of the child. This course follows the guidelines of Kansas and Missouri Core Competencies for Early Care and Education Professionals and the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards.
