3 credits. 3 hours. (Lecture 3 hours.) Prerequisite: MATH 100 or higher. This course will assist student in understanding mathematical concepts and relationships commonly needed for paraprofessionals in elementary school programs. A review of basic math concepts and procedures will be provided. The class will then proceed to elaborate on teaching techniques and student learning needs. Emphasis will be placed on State and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards.
