This course is for fourth semester learners to build a research platform that demonstrates multiple aspects of manufacturing automation. This project integrates all levels of automation including field based sensing and actuation technology, field bus communication network installation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming, motion control using pneumatics, stepper and electro servo technology, and Internet monitoring and management capacity. Prerequisite: MFGT2550.
