This course introduces the diagnosis and treatment of the most common diseases and disorders for each body system. It distinguishes between infectious, communicable, congenital, and neoplastic diseases. This course focuses on the nature of the disease, how the physician might diagnose and treat the disease, and the consequences for the patient. An awareness of basic surgical techniques, instruments, and selected procedures is also included. Prerequisite: MEDS1620 or permission by instructor.
