This course provides learners with hands-on, entry level experience of the types of materials and the processes used in manufacturing. This course is an opportunity for learners to apply principles of metallurgy and simple production processes. The primary emphasis is hands-on experience and safety using common machine shop tools such as the band saw, grinder, drill press, lathe, and milling machine. The result is exposure to and the knowledge of typical machining processes.
