Instruction prepares the student for working in an athletic or sport specific performance facility. The principles, methods, techniques, and programming of resistance strength training are covered in detail. Additional topics include testing and assessment, general athletic preparation, sport specificity analysis with exercise programming, prevention of athletic injuries, and performance enhancement. Lab activities include free and machine weights, plyometrics, core strengthening, speed, and power applications. Prerequisite: HEFI1602, HEFI1611 or BIOL1417, and HEFI1612 or BIOL1419.
