This course meets Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) goal areas 5 and 7. This course is an overview of American history from the year 1877 to the present. Interpretations focus on the political, social, economic, and cultural development of the United States in this time period. Focus is on issues defined by industrial production, challenges to traditional ways of thinking about democracy, and the effects of nuclear weaponry on political and social realities. HIST1401 is recommended but not required.
