This course provides an introduction to converged voice and data networks as well as the challenges faced by its various technologies. Components and capabilities that are required to provide integrated voice and data services in campus LAN, enterprise and service provider environments are discussed. Topics include VoIP theory and corresponding Cisco hardware, Voice over IP signaling, configuring PSTN connections, dial plans, QoS technologies, and configuring Cisco Call Manager Express. Students construct and configure a Cisco IP Telephony infrastructure. Prerequisite: CVNP1609 and CVNP1611 or similar experience.
