The objective of this course is to prepare the student artist for a potential career in illustration using the rigorous discipline of painting the human head in one studio session. This crucial discipline sharpens the eye of the artist in judging values, discerning color, mixing color, analyzing character, design and composition, brush handling, and treatment of edges. The painting methods are those of John Howard Sanden, American painter and illustrator. Prerequisite: COAR1612, COAR1613, and COAR1619 or equivalent.
