This course meets Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) goal area 3. This course provides the learner with understanding, knowledge, and application skills needed in the area of anatomy and physiology. Students learn to recognize and apply anatomical and medical terminology descriptions of cellular and tissue anatomy and physiology. Foundational skills are then directed toward gaining an understanding of the organs constituting the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, and cardiovascular systems. The normal structure and function of these organ systems are emphasized. Lab experience is included. Dissections, symptoms, laboratory signs, and diagnosis of system pathology are used to illuminate normal processes where appropriate. Prerequisite: College level reading score on a placement test or a minimum grade of "C" in CollegePrep Reading (READ0355).
