Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in first yearnursing courses This course focuses on the student's continuing development to apply the nursing process to the unique and specialized aspects of the care of children and their families with special emphasis on growth and development needs of infancy through adolescence, health maintenance, illness and accident prevention, teaching/learning needs and responses to children and their families to selected acute illnesses and chronic health conditions; including the situational crises of hospitalization, outpatients and continuing home care.
