Prerequisites: MUS 1650 This course covers traditional as well as contemporary compositional techniques through in-depth analysis and listening of art music of all periods. While students are allowed to write in whichever art music style they feel comfortable, they will be encouraged to try the many different techniques covered during the semester, in order to widen and enrich their individual skills and styles. Students are required to compose a minimum of two original songs or pieces during the semester.
