Prerequisite: Nursing program acceptance Pre or Corequisite: NUR 1290 This course introduces the first year nursing student to the theory and practice of professional nursing. The concepts of human being, health, environment and nursing are used to provide a framework for discussion of such topics as biopsychosocial development, human needs, the health/illness continuum, the health care delivery system, nurse client interaction and the provision of nursing services via the nursing process.
