General Education Attributes. 1, 2 This course will deal with specific topics of interest to the public from a historical perspective. The topics will vary from semester to semester. The student should consult the Schedule of Classes to discover what topics are being offered in the current semester. In studying each topic the student will become cognizant of the processes involved in historical research and writing. Emphasis will be directed to understanding the nature of primary and secondary sources, the reliability and objectivity of evidence, the relationship between fact and generalization, the relative input of individuals and institutions in events and the art of integrating divergent strands in historical developments.
