Equivalent to EMT 1551 (2004-2005) Prerequisite: EMS Orientation Recommended Corequisites: EMS 1010, EMS 1100, and EMS 1200 This course, in conjunction with EMS 1010, 1100, and 1200, is designed to teach the knowledge, skills, and appropriate behavior to prepare students for the National Registry Certification examinations which will enable them to obtain a Michigan Basic EMT license. The focus of this particular course is related to the trauma aspect of patient care. Students will be under the direct supervision of a licensed EMS Instructor- Coordinator. Successful completion of this course requires the student to pass both written and practical skill examinations consistent with state and national standards. This class contains an on-line component.
