Equivalent to CIS 1530 (2003-2004) Students should be familiar with the basics of both word processing and Microsoft Windows file management techniques before enrolling in this course. Students will survey and practice the techniques used by system analysts and programmers in the analysis and design of computer-based business information systems with focus on the Unified Modeling Language (UML). Both traditional and object-oriented methods will be presented. System and objectoriented development life cycles (SDLC and ODLC) and subjects in computer-aided software engineering (CASE) such as project management, requirements modeling, data flow and entity relationship diagrams (DFD and ERD) and data dictionaries are among the included topics.
