Equivalent to EMT 2612 (2004-2005) Prerequisites: EMS 2000, BIO 2630 Pre or Corequisites: EMS 2100, and BIO 2640 Recommended Corequisite: EMS 2300 The emphasis of this course is pharmacology and drug therapy as they relate to advanced pre-hospital emergency care. Aspects of drug administration such as mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications, metabolism, excretion, and side effects of a wide range of drugs will be explored. In addition, paramedic care of the medical patient including appropriate advanced level interventions will be discussed. This class contains an on-line component. Course/lab fees
