This course provides an introduction to the profession of dental hygiene. Students are instructed in the concepts and techniques essential in providing comprehensive dental hygiene care. Through a simulated clinical laboratory experience, the students practice operatory preparation, infection control procedures, patient assessment, and periodontal instrumentation.
