Prerequisite: Permission of Nursing Program Director. This course is designed to introduce the licensed practical nurse and other health professionals to concepts related to change and transition as they pursue education to become registered nurses. Students will learn about role development and transition, the process of change, transitions in nursing, transition to the student role, associate degree nursing education process, differentiation of LPN and RN roles, the nursing domain, critical thinking in registered nursing, role concepts essential for registered nursing practice, application of the nursing process, and legal and ethical issues related to nursing. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three semester hours.
