Prerequisite: None. This non-credit course is for students with little or no previous algebra background. Topics include arithmetic review, real number operations, linear equations and inequalities, polynomial operations, rational expressions, and square roots. The course is graded with "S" for satisfactory or "U" for unsatisfactory. To receive a grade of "S", the student must have an average of 70% or better passing course work for the semester. Five lecture hours a week. Credit: None.
