Prerequisite: ACT Math Subscore of 19 or higher, or minimum secondary assessment score, or MTH 0403. This is a contemporary math course designed to emphasize the many uses and practical applications of mathematics providing the foundations for arithmetic and problem solving. Origin of numbers, number bases, systems of whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, real number operations, problem solving and consumer mathematics are some of the topics included in the course. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three semester hours.
