Prerequisite: None. This course is designed to provide the student an understanding of the development, appropriate environments, materials and activities and teaching and guidance techniques for the child 5-13 years. It focuses on the social, emotional, mental and physical developmental processes. It includes interpreting Oklahoma licensing standards, problem-solving techniques and personal qualities as related to guiding children 5-13. Two lecture and two laboratory hours a week. Credit: Three semester hours a week.
