3 Credits This course introduces the radiologic technology student to their responsibilities when working with patients. This course will discuss patient education, safety and comfort. An emphasis will be made on how to react to medical emergencies within the department and the legal responsibilities of the radiologic professional. The course will address infection control, handling of hazardous materials, isolation precautions, and patient monitoring. The student will learn about human diversity, ethnic and cultural values and how these need to be integrated into the profession. Medical terminology will be integrated throughout the semester.
