Lecture This course is designed to help students improve music skills and develop an appreciation of twentieth-century American jazz and pop music. The class studies the music through recordings, videos, readings, writings and discussion. Students study music theory, interpretation, improvisation and reading through private study, ensemble experience and public performance. Students taking this course rehearse and perform with the Jazz Ensemble.
