3 Credits This course explores the principles and methodologies for providing patient care in the medical office. A special focus upon pharmacology including drug classification, effects of medications on body systems, mathematics and dosage calculations, and the correct administration of parenteral, oral, topical, rectal, otic, and nasal medications, and the performance of laboratory procedures in the physician's medical office. Pre/Co-requisites: BIO214/ BIO216, MAS115, MAS117, MAS121/ MAS217. MAS217 Advanced Clinical Lab 2 Credits This course is a competency-based laboratory experience. The student will be provided with practice in clinical skills performed by medical assistants. Pre/Co-requisites: BIO214/ BIO216, MAS115, MAS117, MAS121/ MAS215.
