GER 230 - 20th Century German Literature

3 Credits Students will read and discuss a selection of 20th Century German literature, some in translation and some in the original German, including poetry, short stories, and novels. German culture as well as historical events greatly influenced German literature during this tumultuous period. In addition, students will be exposed to the cultural diversity of German language and literature. Discussion will be augmented by films as well as occasional guest speakers. German students will also practice writing a formal paper in German. Pre/Co-requisite: GER 201 or permission of the instructor.
