3 Credits his course introduces students to the term "computer science" using a variety of methods. Topics included are software development, ethics, philosophy, and mathematical modeling to gain a better understanding of how computers operate and run applications. Through readings and discussion students will examine the evolution of society to the ?digital age? and how it continues to affect the world. Students will become familiar with the ALICE program and the Python language which will be used to develop analytical and logical skills as a basis for successful programming.Pre/Co-requisite: CPT117 or equivalent.
