3 Credits This problem-solving approach to mathematics presents the student with a firm foundation in the math skills needed for success in our contemporary society. Interactive techniques will be used which emphasize critical thinking and developing strategies to solve math problems. Topics covered include problem solving, reasoning and logic, consumer math, measurement systems and geometry, set theory and counting principles, probability, and descriptive statistics. Prerequisite: Satisfactory performance on the placement test.
