Offers the student the opportunity to develop skills and proper attitudes in welding safety and the gas metal arc welding process of aluminum using 5356 plate and 4043 and 5356 wire. Also covered is the flux core arc welding of stainless steel utilizing E309L-T x .035 or .045 diameter wire. Instruction includes fundamental types of equipment and the basic theory and practice of metal transfer. This course offers training to develop the manual skills necessary to produce quality fillet welds on .125, .250 an .375 thick aluminum, stainless or mild steel plate in all positions. 2-week course (40 hr) Prerequisite: WEL 265
