Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to care for individuals experiencing alterations in meeting their basic human needs. Students use a family-centered approach in caring for individuals across the lifespan. As it explores preventive maintenance and restorative nursing interventions for common well-defined health problems within the nursing process framework, this course applies basic concepts of nutrition, pharmacology, communication, and teaching-learning. Classroom content correlates with selected learning experiences in structured health care settings. (6 lec, 12 lab) Prerequisites: NUR 105, BIO 122, BIO 126
