Designed to focus on food as a way to examine both world and U.S. history. Particular emphasis will be placed on food and its connection with society. The history of control over food production, and the symbolic, cultural and religious importance of food in past and present day will be addressed. The impact of colonization, immigration and legislation are included as part of the course structure. (3 lec, 0 lab)
