This course is a practical, clinical component with an emphasis on nursing of the mother, infant, children and medical and surgical problems. As the student progresses through the clinical areas, patient assignments will pertain to the body system being studied in Medical Surgical Nursing theory course or the units in Nursing of Mother and Infant or Nursing of Children. Nursing care delivered with focus on specific standards of care for the diagnosis of the patient. Procedures learned in Clinical Nursing I will continue to be performed with emphasis on adaptations necessary for the medical or surgical client. Students will be administering medications to their assigned patients after check off with the instructor. Prerequisite: LPN 1002 Clinical Nursing I and all previous term courses. This course is a prerequisite to all subsequent term courses.
