Introduces the student to the role of the Advanced Life Support Provider. Topics covered include roles and responsibilities of ALS providers, medical terminology, self-care, and initial patient stabilization and management. Students will learn how to obtain a history and perform a physical assessment on a patient. (45 lec hours, 0 lab hours) Prerequisites: Certificate indicating successful completion of the DOT EMT-Basic class (and subsequent refresher training where appropriate), successful completion of NEEMS-required preadmission testing, and meeting all program admission requirements.
