This course is a study of fundamental skills, principles, and attitudes needed to give nursing care with skill, safety, and comfort for the patient. Utilizing the nursing process, the student will have the ability to meet environmental, hygienic, activity and nutritional needs for the client. These skills will be further enhanced by the study of health assessment and documentation. The vocational responsibilities of the practical nurse are integrated into each unit. This course is a prerequisite to Basic Nursing II and all subsequent term courses.
