Catalog Description Study of types, conditions, processes, and theories relating to juvenile delinquency. Study of the development of alienation and deviance by youth and study of the juvenile correction systems in society. (3 hrs. lect.) Student Learning Outcomes Apply a sociological perspective to juvenile delinquency. Display an understanding of the multiple causes of juvenile delinquency. Identify differences in male and female offenders. Show an awareness of the family and the school system as both malfunctioning institutions as well as preventative institutions. Express and communicate ideas and opinions clearly in writing.
