Catalog Description Analysis by use of maps, air photos, field and laboratory observation, and experimentation. Emphasis on Hawai'i and on human modification of environment. Required field trips during regular class hours. (3 hrs. lab.) Prerequisite: Credit for or registration in GEOG 101. Student Learning Outcomes Apply the scientific method to study a physical environment: Define a problem for a study, gather and record data, analyze the data, arrive at appropriate conclusions, and report the findings in written form. Use various instruments, such as a compass, GPS unit and thermometer, to gather environmental data. Use the metric system, scientific notation, graphs, and geographic and basic statistical measurements. Write a lab report using the standard scientific format.
