Medical terminology and the metric system are discussed. An overview of general patient assessment, airway and ventilation, and shock are covered. Understanding and management of the body's system's reaction to decreasedcellular oxygenation are discussed. Body fluids, osmosis and pathophysiology of inadequate tissue perfusion combined with the evaluation and resuscitation of these patients is emphasized. The use of MAST and intravenous techniques are taught.
