This course acquaints the student with prescription and medication order policies and procedures in all pharmacy settings. Students interpret, label, compound and dispense prescriptions. Students will utilize profile systems and describe inventory control procedures. Students will utilize profile systems and describe inventory control procedures. Students will become familiar with unit dose drug distribution, floor stock distribution, narcotic control, and inventory control. Drug information references and compounding, with an emphasis on the prescription balance and weight are also reviewed.
