This course introduces the operation of an intravenous admixture program. Specific study topics include medications and parenteral administration; facilities; equipment; supplies utilized in admixture preparation, techniques utilized in parental product compounding; terminology and calculations used in preparation of parenteral products; parenteral medication incompatibilities; and quality assurance in the preparation of parenteral products. Prerequisite: PHARM 1010, 1030, 1040, 1050 with a 'C' or better.
